Integration guide

How to plan an ERP/CRM integration before writing code

An integration does not fail only because of technology. It fails when nobody defines which data source wins, what errors are expected and what the system should do when something does not fit.

Key decisions

What to review first

  1. Define the source of truth

    01

Before synchronizing anything, decide which system owns customers, orders, statuses, products or documents.

  2. Map the data

    02

Each field needs name, format, requirement, transformation and owner.

    • Unique identifiers.
    • Required fields.
    • Status equivalences.
    • Synchronization frequency.
  3. Expected errors

    03

A robust integration does not assume everything will work. Define duplicates, incomplete data, API downtime, permissions and retries.

  4. Testing and maintenance

    04

Test with real data, log errors and document how to react so the integration is maintainable.
